New Delhi, June 16 — In a major push to enhance convenience for frequent highway commuters, the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) has announced a new FASTag Annual Pass system, set to roll out from August 15, 2025. The pass will allow private vehicle owners to make up to 200 toll-free trips on national highways in a year, all for a one-time payment of ₹3,000.
The initiative, revealed by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari via social media, is aimed at reducing toll-related hassles, particularly for individuals residing within a 60-kilometre radius of toll booths who regularly use the highways.

Faster highway access for local commuters
-
Reduced congestion and complaints at toll booths
-
Promotes digital toll management and user-centric policies
