πŸš— FASTag Annual Pass Launched: 200 Highway Trips for ₹3,000 — Here’s What You Need to Know

New Delhi, June 16 — In a major push to enhance convenience for frequent highway commuters, the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) has announced a new FASTag Annual Pass system, set to roll out from August 15, 2025. The pass will allow private vehicle owners to make up to 200 toll-free trips on national highways in a year, all for a one-time payment of ₹3,000.

The initiative, revealed by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari via social media, is aimed at reducing toll-related hassles, particularly for individuals residing within a 60-kilometre radius of toll booths who regularly use the highways.

πŸ›£️ Who Is Eligible?

  • The annual FASTag pass is available only for non-commercial vehicles such as:

    • Cars

    • Jeeps

    • Vans

  • It is valid for one year from the date of activation or until 200 trips are completed — whichever comes first.

πŸ“² How to Apply for the FASTag Annual Pass

Interested users will be able to get the pass via:

  • The Rajmarg Yatra mobile application

  • The official website of the NHAI

  • The MoRTH portal

A dedicated activation and renewal link will be provided ahead of the official rollout.

🧾 Why It Matters

This new system enables users to prepay for their toll usage, eliminating the need for repeated deductions or disputes over small toll amounts — especially useful for those who take frequent short-distance trips.

Key benefits include:

  • Single upfront payment = less friction at toll plazas

  • Faster highway access for local commuters

  • Reduced congestion and complaints at toll booths

  • Promotes digital toll management and user-centric policies
